12 Months (1 Year) EPWP Program – City of Johannesburg (Metrobus)
Department: Corporate Services (CS) and Integrated Business Operations (IBO)
Designation: EPWP General Workers (x135)
Location: Metrobus – Various Depots and Outlets
Purpose: To create employment / work opportunities on a temporary basis.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 (NCV Level 4).
- Must be between 18 and 45 years old.
- Must be a South African citizen residing within the City of Johannesburg Municipality (recent proof of address required).
- Only unemployed applicants will be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of Metrobus depots, facilities, and buses.
- Support in the upkeep of bus stations, stops, and surrounding areas.
- Perform basic labour tasks such as sweeping, loading/unloading materials, and moving equipment.
- Assist Metrobus staff in administrative or operational tasks when required.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
- Provide support in community-based service delivery projects linked to Metrobus.
- Report damaged infrastructure, vehicles, or equipment to supervisors.
- Carry out any ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisors to support operations.
